Account & Sync: Sign in with Apple & iCloud

New

  • Sign in with Apple — optional. Only your identity is stored on the device: no account with us, no tracking.
  • Cross-device synchronisation via iCloud: your entries on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Off by default and switchable at any time.
  • New “Account & Sync” section in settings — with a short introduction the first time you open it.

  • Synchronisation runs encrypted via your private iCloud; with “Advanced Data Protection” it is end-to-end encrypted — so not even Apple can see inside.
  • Local-first stays the principle: without active sync, all data remains exclusively on your device.

Sign in with Apple — optional

You can now sign in with your Apple ID. This is entirely optional and creates no account with us: we only store your identity locally on the device, without any tracking. If you prefer, just stay “without an account” — nothing changes.

Synchronise via iCloud

If you like, sync your Apple devices via iCloud: what you record on your iPhone is also there on iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Sync is off by default; you turn it on deliberately and can switch it off again at any time.

Encrypted and in your hands

Synchronisation runs through your private iCloud and is encrypted. If you have “Advanced Data Protection” enabled, your data is end-to-end encrypted — so not even Apple can see inside. Without sync, everything stays local on your device as before.
