Inneres Echo

Age suitability

Inneres Echo is rated 16+

This page transparently explains why Inneres Echo carries a 16+ rating on the App Store and what content sits behind it.

Why 16+?

Inneres Echo supports people living with mental-health challenges in everyday life. It regularly involves serious, real-world topics — mood, anxiety, impulses, compulsions, and recognising and easing crises. In our assessment and under the App Store standards, this content is suitable for a more mature audience aged 16 and over.

Younger than 16?

If you are under 16 and need support, it's best to set the app up together with a trusted adult (a parent or your care team) — Apple's Family Sharing makes that easy. You deserve to have someone by your side. In acute distress: get help immediately (see below) — no app replaces that.

What kind of content appears?

Frequently: support for managing one's own mental health (self-care, daily structure, reflecting on mood and how you feel). In the crisis area, topics such as emotional distress up to self-harm and suicidal thoughts are addressed carefully and supportively — always to relieve and to point towards help, never sensationalised or instructive.

Encouragement without pressure

There are gentle progress counters — such as “there-for-you” days or days without self-harm. They are deliberately shame-free: a setback erases nothing, there is no “red zero” and no forced reset. Encouragement instead of performance pressure — precisely because harsh streak mechanics can be harmful under mental strain.

What the app explicitly does NOT contain

No sexual or nude content. No gambling, no loot boxes, no competition against other users. No calorie, diet or weight-loss content — the way the app handles food and the body is deliberately pressure-free and without chasing numbers.

Not a medical device

Inneres Echo is an everyday support — not a medical device and not a substitute for therapy, counselling or medical care. The app does not diagnose and does not promise any cure. It does not replace professional help in an emergency.

In an acute crisis

If you or someone near you is in acute danger, get help right away — no app replaces that:

  • 112 — Emergency services
  • 0800 111 0 111 — Telefonseelsorge (free, 24/7, Germany)
  • 116 111 — Nummer gegen Kummer, helpline for children & teens (free, Germany)
